Rising Stars

Have you had the pleasure of attending the Santa Fe Opera Guild’s Apprentice Dinner and been matched with an aspiring young artist? If you have, then you know the pride you feel watching “your apprentice” pursue a career in opera.

I am pleased to announce that we are continuing the Apprentice Watch feature from the Operagram so that everyone may follow these amazing singers. So many Santa Fe Opera apprentices have gone on to perform at opera houses world-wide, that it requires a dedicated communications team member to keep up with all the news. Martha Baker, a member of the Santa Fe Opera Guild’s Board of Directors, is the editor of Apprentice Watch and is committed to keeping our membership current on news about former Santa Fe Opera apprentice singers.

Many former apprentices have earned coveted awards and prizes. One of the most prestigious and challenging competitions is The Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition.

To read more about The Laffont Competition, go to the Apprentice Watch page of this website.
